환경생물공학 연구실

환경생물공학 연구실에서는 오염된 환경의 정화 및 사회에 유용한 자원 생성을 위하여 미생물학과 공학의 원리를 적용한 미생물학적 공정을 연구 함. 세부 연구분야는 다음과 같음.

1. 하폐수 및 폐기 바이오매스로부터 에너지 회수: 미생물연료전지, 미생물전기합성, 혐기성소화, 바이오수소가스 생성
2. 생물학적 처리 원리를 이용한 오염된 물 처리: 미생물전기분해전지, 고정상 생물반응기, 활성슬러지공정, 생물막 반응기
3. 하폐수 내 유용한 영양물질 및 화학물질 (금속) 회수
4. 생물전기화학반응, 환경물질이동 및 변환, 미생물생태학, 미생물공정 모델링

Environmental Biotechnology Laboratory for Water and Energy (EBLWE) is focusing on development of sustainable environmental biotechnology platform for wastewater treatment, resource recovery, and environmental contamination detection using bioelectrochemical concept. Our major research activities are directed towards the design and development of novel process, reactor configuration and bioactive nanomaterials for enhancing the interaction of microbes with anaerobic microenvironment to achieve high bidirectional extracellular electron transfer thereby improving the desired outcomes such as methane upgradation, CO2 valorization, biohydrogen production, bioelectricity recovery to name a few. We have more fundamental research interests such as bioelectrochemistry, environmental transport process, microbial community, anaerobic respiration, and fermentation.

Laboratory News

Welcome our former Postdoctoral Researcher Dr. Md Tabish Noori as Brain Pool Fellow in our lab. Tabish will work on development of CCU platform for value added product recovery from CO2.
